I love my team more than anything. I bleed Azzurri and support them through every game. But, they really let us down today, and more importantly, they let themselves down. For the first time, I was embarrassed to be wearing my jersey. Defence and attacking were non-existent, and they were a shadow of the team they were just days before. Losing 4-0, to a team you had tied 1-1 with just weeks before, is just inexplicable: no matter how many wins came before the final.
I look forward to the World Cup 2014, with an Azzurri team that is ready to fight till the very end.
It was not until June 25th 2009, that Michael was viewed as human; like one of us. Until then, he was viewed as a performer, child star and celebrity; an unreachable, ‘larger than life’ figure. In our eyes he was ‘immortal’. For four decades we had been engulfed in Michael’s genius and stardom, often taking for granted his talent and the sacrifices he made. We had never imagined that we would have so little time left with him; that someone like Michael Jackson would one day not be with us.
On June 25th 2009 at 2:26pm the whole world stood still. As Michael’s passing was confirmed, the line between celebrity and reality soon faded. Michael’s death, in a way, humanized him and truly made the world realize that even the biggest stars fall just like everyone one of us. It was on June 25th, 2009 that we realized that immortality no longer meant escaping death. Michael’s genius, music, charity, love, passion and legacy will live forever on in his place.
On a more personal note…
Yes I was :) I had a lot of fun posting about football, but I don’t feel as passionate about it anymore. Still love football (Forza Azzurri!) but decided to focus my tumblr on someone that’s been really important to me for a long time :))
“For now, Dick Clark … so long”
Rest in Peace Dick Clark: An American Icon
Hey! Sorry for replying late - I didn’t see this message until now.
Yes! 1000 roses were sent to Michael, including a book of fan messages to Michael :) They were placed inside the Holy Terrace on the steps leading to Michael’s tomb. It was truly beautiful!
Jermaine tweeted about it, and it was trending on twitter - Michael would be so proud!
I’m going to make a post about it later today.
